PrintWhen the verb consists of two or more words, the interrogative sentence is formed by putting the first auxiliary verb before the subject.

  • He has been playing. (Assertive)
  • Has he been playing? (Interrogative)
  • She is coming. (Assertive)
  • Is she coming? (Interrogative)
  • I am working. (Assertive)
  • Am I working? (Interrogative)

The same rules apply when the sentences are in the passive voice.

  • A letter has been written by me. (Assertive)
  • Has a letter been written by me? (Interrogative)
