PrintTo accept is to take something offered or to come to terms with something.

  • She refused to accept the gift.
  • He couldn’t accept the defeat.
  • They accepted our invitation.

When you agree with somebody, both of you have the same opinion about something.

  • The doctors couldn’t agree about what caused the death of the patient.
  • I had to agree that she looked slimmer in that costume.

Note that agree can mean the same as accept in some cases. But before an infinitive, we usually use agree, not accept.

  • She agreed to make the payment. (More natural than She accepted to make the payment.)
  • They agreed to visit us. (More natural than they accepted to visit us.)
